| This very weighty item, both in tonnage and content, dropped on my doormat today. Its a fascinating collection of mostly colour photographs of the Sweet boys from 1971-1978. Taken by German photographer, Bubi Heilemann, who also provides a number of valuable anecdotes. Verified, I hasten to add by Andy and Steve, quote, So many memories, all true! Over the 320 glossy pages are individual sections on each member of the band. Particularly interesting are some of the never seen before pictures of their home lives with wives and children, did Damian Scott ever look so sweet and innocent? These are followed by a wealth of images of them in the studio, on the road and on German TV amongst others. This has got to be one of the best rock photo books on a single artist I have ever seen. The heavy price of fifty quid may seem a bit much but I believe it will swiftly become a very sought after item. Perhaps even ending up changing hands on ebay for considerably more than the cover price. My advise is to get yourself a copy now while you still can! |
